The Summer of 2009 will be remembered as a very rainy season full of thunder, lightning and perhaps after tonight a renewed respect for trees. After only a few short weeks since Google engineer Sasha Blair-Goldensohn was hit by a falling tree branch and knocked into a coma; this evening’s thunderstorm caused property damage along Manhattan’s Central Park West. Uprooted trees knocked over street lamps, signs, smashed cars, and blocked the length of CPW and the upper 90′s. thankfully there have been no reported injuries.
