Highline Fate Remains Unclear

in News

The spur over Tenth Avenue is threatened with demolition. Supporters of The Highline’s controversial ’spur’ section were disappointed by development firm Related’s refusal to discuss the eventual fate of the spur.

At a public forum to discuss development of zoning issues, The spur section was not part of Related’s presentation or agenda.
Although the lack of information disappointed the supporters of The Highline, It did not deter then from seeking the truth of Related’s intentions.

Rep. Naddler and State Assemblyman Dick Gottfried were on hand to voice their support for complete restoration of The Highline.

As the public began asking questions, citizens circled closer to the official reasons as to why saving the spur has been thus far neglected. Related’s official company response is that the spur is ugly.
